The Safariland SPECIES is built for people who value comfort and concealability without sacrificing reliability. It starts with a thermal-molded SafariLaminate body that's sturdy but keeps unnecessary bulk to a minimum, then adds a suede-lined interior that does double duty: it protects your Hellcat's finish while making the holster grip the gun a bit tighter than bare polymer would. The result is quiet draws and reholsters with minimal fidgeting.
The design philosophy here is all about getting out of your own way. The minimalist shape cuts away material from strategic spots so the holster sits flatter against your body whether you're carrying appendix or strongside. Safariland engineered the belt clip to be fully adjustable for cant and ride height, and it works with standard 1.5-inch belts. The retention screw is recessed so it won't snag on your clothes, but you can still dial in how tight the gun sits using a simple Allen wrench.
The holster is cut for compact red-dot sights like the Romeo Zero, Holosun 407K and 507K, RMR CC, Shield RMS models, and similar optics. The integrated passive trigger guard retention gives you a customizable draw feel without fussy adjustments. Just set it once and carry on. It's right-hand only, and the gun-specific molding for the Hellcat means you get a purpose-fit holster rather than a loose universal fit.
Yes. The SPECIES has an integrated adjustment screw that lets you customize how tight the holster grips the gun. The screw is recessed so it won't catch on your clothes, and you can dial it in or back off with a simple Allen wrench to match your preference.
Yes, the holster is cut for compact red-dot sights. It's compatible with the Romeo Zero, Holosun 407K and 507K, RMR CC, Shield RMS models, and similar optics. The suede lining won't interfere with your optic.
Yes. The minimalist design and adjustable belt clip make it well-suited for appendix carry, though plenty of people also carry it strongside or at the 3 to 4 o'clock position. The slim profile and light weight work well for either carry style.
The suede lining protects your Hellcat's finish from scratches and scuffs that can happen with draw and reholster cycles. It also creates a slightly tighter grip on the gun and makes the holster remarkably quiet compared to bare polymer designs.
