The Salvo 12 is a great piece of gear, but it needs the right choke adapter to get on your gun, and that is exactly what this is. The SilencerCo Echo Choke Adapter (AC1322) is a single choke tube cut for Remington-pattern threads with a Full constriction, so it drops into an 870, 1100, 11-87, Versa Max, or any other shotgun running the standard Rem Choke system. The adapter threads into your barrel just like a regular choke tube, then the external threads and locking ring give the Salvo 12 a solid, repeatable mounting point.
SilencerCo built these from hardened steel with a black finish, so it holds up to real use instead of wearing out after a few range trips. Because the adapter is also your choke, you are not giving up pattern control to run suppressed. This one is the Full version, which means tight patterns and extended reach, a good match for turkey hunting, longer passing shots on waterfowl-style setups with lead loads, or anyone who just wants maximum pellet density downrange. If you want a more open spread, the Echo lineup also comes in Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified for Remington threads, so you can swap constrictions the same way you would swap regular choke tubes.
A couple things worth knowing before you order. This adapter fits standard Remington choke threads, not the Pro Bore system found on some newer Remington barrels, which uses its own adapter (AC1323). Also, SilencerCo advises against running steel shot through Full or Improved Modified chokes, so keep this one paired with lead loads and grab an Improved Cylinder if steel is on the menu. Installation is straightforward: remove your factory choke, thread this in, and mount the Salvo. It is a small part that does a big job, and it is the piece that turns your favorite Rem Choke shotgun into a suppressor host.
It fits shotguns threaded for the standard Remington choke system, commonly called Rem Choke. The Salvo 12 mounts to the shotgun through an Echo choke adapter, which replaces your factory choke tube and provides the external threads and locking ring the suppressor attaches to. Without the correct adapter for your barrel, the Salvo has nothing to mount to.
No, SilencerCo specifically says not to run steel shot through Full or Improved Modified Echo chokes. Steel does not compress like lead and can damage a tight constriction. If steel loads are part of your plans, pick up the Improved Cylinder version instead and save this one for lead.
It works just like a standard choke tube, so this Full version will throw the tight, dense patterns you would expect from any Full choke. That makes it a solid pick for turkey hunting and longer shots where you want maximum pellet density. If you prefer a more open spread for closer work, the Echo line is also offered in Improved Cylinder and Improved Modified for Remington threads.
