The Salvo 12 is one of the coolest suppressors on the market, but it needs the right interface to get on your shotgun in the first place. That is exactly what the SilencerCo Echo choke adapter handles. This version (part number AC1324) fits Mossberg 500 pattern choke threads and combines two jobs into one piece of hardware: it acts as your choke tube with a Full constriction, and it provides the mount that the Salvo 12 attaches to. Thread it into the barrel like any other choke, hang the can off the front, and you are in business.
Before adapters like this existed, getting a can on a scattergun meant custom barrel work. The Echo does it the easy way by using the choke threads your Mossberg already has. Since it is a single-piece design, there is nothing to come loose between the choke and the mount, and the black finish blends right in with a working shotgun. At just a couple ounces of shipping weight, it adds next to nothing to the muzzle beyond the suppressor itself.
The Full constriction on this adapter makes it a natural pick for turkey hunters, waterfowlers pushing longer shots with appropriate loads, and anyone who wants the densest pattern they can get with a suppressed setup. One thing worth knowing before you order: SilencerCo says to skip steel shot through Full and Improved Modified chokes, so keep this one paired with lead or other soft shot. Flight controlled wads are also a no go with the Salvo 12 system.
This adapter fits standard Mossberg 500 pattern Accu-Choke threads, which covers a huge range of 500, 590, and similar 12 gauge barrels with removable chokes. It is not compatible with the Mossberg 835 or 935, since those use a different bore and thread setup. If your barrel takes standard Mossberg choke tubes, you are good. SilencerCo also makes Echo adapters in other constrictions and for other choke systems, so you can build out options for different seasons and different birds.
If your barrel uses standard Mossberg Accu-Choke threads, yes, this adapter threads right in like a regular choke tube. That covers most 500 and 590 barrels with removable chokes. The one exception is the Mossberg 835 and 935, which use a different overbored system and are not compatible with this adapter.
No, SilencerCo specifically advises against running steel shot through Full or Improved Modified constrictions. Steel does not compress like lead and a tight choke can cause problems. Stick with lead or other soft shot in this Full adapter, or grab one of the more open Echo constrictions if steel is a must for your hunting.
Yes. The Salvo 12 attaches to the shotgun through an Echo choke adapter rather than threading directly to the barrel. This adapter replaces your existing choke tube and provides both the Full constriction and the mounting interface for the suppressor, so no barrel modification is needed.
Mostly, with one big exception: flight controlled wads are not compatible with the Salvo 12 system, so avoid loads like Federal FliteControl when shooting suppressed. Standard lead field and target loads run fine. Just remember the steel shot restriction that applies to this Full constriction.
