Sig took the CROSS receiver, stripped away everything a backcountry hunter doesn't need, and the Cross Trax is what came out the other side. At right around six pounds with the magazine in, it carries like a rifle you'll take up the ridge instead of leaving in the truck. The 11.5 inch skeletonized handguard cuts weight where it counts, and the Minimalist Folding Stock collapses the whole rifle down to 26 inches folded, which makes a real difference strapped to a pack or stowed behind a seat.
The 16 inch tapered stainless steel barrel wears a 1:9 twist that stabilizes the heavier .243 Winchester loads deer hunters tend to favor, and the 5/8×24 threaded muzzle means a suppressor or brake spins right on out of the box. Up top you get a 20 MOA Picatinny rail, so mounting a scope with plenty of elevation headroom is a five minute job. The .243 chambering is a smart match for this platform too. Light recoil, flat trajectory, and enough punch for deer, antelope, and coyotes makes it a do-it-all cartridge in a rifle that weighs next to nothing.
The two-stage match trigger adjusts from 2.5 to 4 pounds, which is a genuinely nice trigger for a hunting rifle in this class. Sig also kept the controls thoughtful, with an ambidextrous safety, a low-profile bolt knob and handle that won't snag on brush or pack straps, and a PDW-style grip that indexes naturally with gloves on. The stock includes an integrated QD sling point and a polymer cheek piece to get you behind the glass comfortably.

Yes. The 16 inch stainless barrel comes threaded 5/8×24 with a thread protector installed, so most .243 and 6mm rated suppressors and muzzle brakes will thread straight on. The shorter barrel keeps overall length manageable even with a can attached.

No, this rifle is optic ready and ships without sights. The integrated 20 MOA Picatinny rail on the receiver gives you plenty of real estate for a scope and extra elevation for stretching the .243 out at distance. Plan on adding rings or a one-piece mount along with your glass.
