The P365 has always punched above its weight, but the AXG Fuse version takes that idea further than any other model in the lineup. This is a pistol built around the idea that a carry gun doesn't have to feel like a carry gun when you're shooting it. The 4.3" carbon steel barrel with DLC coating wrings more velocity out of defensive ammunition compared to shorter compact barrels, and the extended 6 7/8" optic-ready slide gives you a legitimate sight radius improvement that you can feel on target. The grip module stays just one inch wide, which is remarkable given that you're running 21+1 capacity.
The gray and black two-tone look on this specific variant (MPN: 365AXGF-9-GYFO) comes from the Nitron-finished black slide paired with the gray AXG aluminum grip module. That AXG grip is a real differentiator on this model. The aluminum construction adds some welcome weight to help tame recoil, and the textured panels give you a solid, confident purchase whether you're shooting at the range or drawing from concealment under stress. The undercut trigger guard and flared magwell improve control and mag changes, and there's a full-length M1913 accessory rail for mounting a light when you need one.
The slide comes pre-cut for direct optic mounting using Sig's SIG-LOC compact footprint, which gives you a very secure five-point mounting interface for the Romeo-X series optics if you go that route. Out of the box, you get a bright fiber optic front sight paired with a black serrated rear, a combo that works great for fast daylight shooting. The serrated rear cuts glare and helps your eye snap right to that front post. The flat-faced nickel-plated trigger has a clean break and measures around 4 pounds, 4 ounces of pull weight.
This pistol ships with three steel magazines: two 21-rounders and one 17-round flush-fit mag. That's a serious loadout right out of the box. The overall length comes in at 7.2 inches, so holster selection matters more here than with a shorter P365 variant. IWB carry is doable, but a rigid holster with a concealment claw and a solid belt setup will make a noticeable difference. For range work, training classes, or home defense, it's hard to find a slimmer package that offers this much capacity and this much control in one gun.
The P365AXG Fuse slide uses Sig's SIG-LOC compact optics footprint, which is designed for direct mounting of Sig's Romeo-X series enclosed compact red dots. If you prefer a third-party optic, look for compatible mounting plates or a model that uses the standard RMSc footprint instead. The SIG-LOC system uses five points of contact for a very solid lockup.
It carries differently than a standard micro-compact P365. The 7.2" overall length and heavier aluminum frame mean you'll want a quality rigid IWB holster with a concealment claw and a proper gun belt to manage printing. That said, plenty of people carry it successfully thanks to the 1.1" width, and the extra length pays dividends in terms of shootability and control. It's a great fit for appendix or strong-side IWB if you're comfortable with a slightly longer pistol.
The AXG grip module is made from aluminum rather than polymer, which adds weight that helps absorb recoil and gives the pistol a more substantial, solid feel in hand. It also features a full-length M1913 accessory rail, a flared removable magwell, an undercut trigger guard for a higher grip, and interchangeable backstraps. The texture is more aggressive than standard P365 grips, which is helpful during fast or extended range sessions.
Three magazines is a solid out-of-box package. You get two 21-round extended mags and one 17-round flush-fit mag, which covers both maximum capacity carry and a cleaner concealment profile depending on your setup. For a training class or range day, having three mags from the start means fewer interruptions and more time shooting.
Compared to the standard P365's 3.1" barrel, the Fuse's 4.3" DLC-coated barrel gives defensive ammunition more time in the bore to reach higher muzzle velocities, which matters for expansion and terminal performance. The longer barrel also contributes to the extended slide length, improving the sight radius so it's easier to stay accurate at distance. It's one of the biggest functional reasons to step up to the Fuse platform.
No. The P365AXG Fuse does not come with a manual thumb safety. Like most striker-fired carry pistols in this class, it relies on the internal passive safeties built into the fire control system. If a manual safety is a requirement for you, this specific model is not the right fit.
