There is a reason the Cross-Magnum Sawtooth keeps coming up in conversations about serious backcountry rifles. Sig built it around a one-piece Cross-Magnum receiver and topped it with a 24 inch Proof Research carbon fiber barrel, which is the same barrel maker that custom shops charge a premium for. Chambered in .300 PRC, this thing is made for the hunter who glasses a bull across a canyon and needs a rifle that can close that distance with confidence. Sig backs it up too, since every rifle ships with a sub-MOA test target proving it grouped before it left the factory.
Magnum rifles have a habit of being heavy, but this one comes in around 8.5 pounds with the magazine, which is impressive for a full chassis rifle on a magnum-length action. The folding Cross Precision stock is fully adjustable for length of pull and comb height, and it folds flat against the receiver so the rifle rides better on a pack or in a truck. The handguard is a lightened design with integrated ARCA rail and M-LOK slots, plus dual QD sling points, so tripod work and sling setups are simple.
