If you're serious about competition or high-volume training, reload speed makes the difference. The Shield Arms Premium Magwell tackles that head-on with a wide funnel design engineered specifically for competition use. Built from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and finished with Type II anodizing, this magwell creates the largest opening Shield Arms offers, giving you a generous target area for magazine insertions even when your aim or positioning isn't perfect.
The funnel geometry is optimized for USPSA and IPSC shooting, where every millisecond counts during reload sequences. The wide flare provides consistent mag-in-battery performance without requiring perfect alignment. The contoured design also improves your grip by extending down the frame, giving you a pinky index point that translates to better control during rapid strings of fire.
No gunsmithing required. The magwell installs with included hardware in under ten minutes using basic tools. It's precision CNC-machined and finished in a durable black anodized coating that resists wear and corrosion through thousands of rounds. Like all Shield Arms accessories, it comes with a 100% lifetime warranty backed by their commitment to American manufacturing.
This Premium Magwell is designed for Gen 5 Glock 19, 23, and 44 pistols. It's worth noting that some frame modifications and the factory backstrap may require fitment adjustments. Made in the USA and built to withstand serious competition use.
Yes, this magwell is designed specifically for Gen 5 Glock 19, 23, and 44 pistols. It installs as a drop-in accessory. However, it's not compatible with some frame modifications or the OEM backstrap, so verify fitment if your pistol has been customized.
The Shield Arms Premium features the widest funnel opening available, designed for competition-level reload speed. Real-world testing shows magwells typically improve reload times by 20-30%. Your actual improvement depends on your technique and training, but the wider funnel gives you a much larger target area for magazine insertion.
Not at all. This is a drop-in design that installs in under ten minutes using the included Allen key. You don't need a gunsmith or any special tools. Shield Arms includes an installation guide, and if you need help, their support team is responsive.
The Premium is built for competition and offers the maximum funnel opening for fastest reloads. The Carry magwell is lower-profile, designed to work better with holsters and concealed carry without adding bulk. If you're shooting USPSA, IPSC, or training seriously at the range, the Premium is the right choice.
