At 17.8 ounces and a footprint sized for G43X MOS and G48 MOS holsters, the CR920 fits the bill for deep concealment, but the aggressive wrap-around grip texture, extended beavertail, and flat-faced aluminum trigger make it feel more like a compact than a subcompact once it's in your hand.
The Elite trim adds three things the base Combat model doesn't have: topside directional serrations, a weight-optimizing window cut in the 17-4 stainless steel slide, and Shadow Systems' patented multi-footprint optic cut as standard. That optic cut is a big deal because it allows direct-to-slide mounting of popular micro red dots like the Holosun 507K and Shield RMS without needing adaptor plates. The iron sights co-witness with most of those optics too, which is exactly what you want on a carry gun. The 3.41-inch match-grade barrel is made from 416R stainless steel with a spiral flute and black nitride finish, and the internals include a stainless steel guide rod and a drop-safe trigger with a clean 4.5 to 5.0 pound pull.
The pistol ships with two magazines: a flush 10+1 for when you need to keep things as slim as possible, and a 13+1 extended magazine with a textured basepad that gives your pinky a real purchase point and turns this into a much more manageable pistol to shoot. That extended mag gets you 13 rounds in a gun that's narrower than a Glock 43X, which is a genuinely impressive number for a frame this thin. The Picatinny rail up front means you're not stuck choosing between weapon light compatibility and a small gun, a limitation you'll run into on several competing platforms.

Shadow Systems uses a patented multi-footprint optic cut that allows direct-to-slide mounting for a wide range of popular micro red dots, including the Holosun 507K, Holosun EPS Carry, Shield RMS, and Swampfox Sentinel. No adapter plates are needed for most of these. The Trijicon RMRcc is not compatible due to screw placement differences.
No, the CR920 uses Shadow Systems proprietary double-stack magazines, not Glock magazines. The pistol ships with both a flush 10+1 mag and an extended 13+1 mag. Additional magazines are available directly from Shadow Systems and select retailers.
Shadow Systems recommends a 200-round break-in period, which is fairly standard for a tightly-toleranced pistol. This gives the components time to properly wear in against each other. Running a variety of standard-pressure 9mm loads during break-in is a good way to confirm the gun's reliability before committing it to carry duty.

The Combat model is the more stripped-down option and is available with or without an optic cut. No, the CR920 Elite does not have an external manual safety. It uses a trigger safety integrated into the flat-faced aluminum trigger, similar to what you find on Glock and other striker-fired carry pistols. The trigger is also drop-safe by design.
