The Sharps Bros Heatseeker SBC04 is one of the easier ways to drag a factory Savage 110 into the modern world. It swaps out that basic factory stock for a billet aluminum chassis that free-floats the barrel, feeds from detachable magazines, and lets you bolt on whatever grip and stock you already like. The whole chassis body runs right around 1 pound 3 ounces, and the included 14-inch handguard adds only about 10 ounces, so you end up with a rig that stays light in the hands whether you are packing it up a ridge or setting up behind a bipod.
This version is cut specifically for the Savage 110 short action and covers the popular .308-based family: .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, .260 Remington, .243 Winchester, and the rest. It is built for the third-generation center-feed short actions with 4.40-inch action screw spacing (H-prefix and later, roughly 2006 production onward), so it pays to check your action before ordering. Installation is a drop-in job. You set the barreled action in, torque the screws to spec, and you are done, no milling or gunsmith trip required. Feeding runs off AICS-pattern short action magazines from Magpul and Accuracy International.
The chassis and handguard are both machined from high-strength 6061-T6 billet aluminum and wear a matte black Cerakote finish that holds up to real field use. The handguard carries M-LOK slots on all four sides for bipods, lights, ARCA rails, or a night vision setup, plus two QD sling cups per side. Where the Heatseeker gets clever is the stock interface: the buffer tube axis sits in line with the bore, so a standard AR-15 buffer tube and stock drops on without needing a tall cheek riser. It takes any AR-15 pistol grip and AR buffer tube stock, which means you finish the build with parts you probably already have in a drawer.
