The SilencerCo Velos LBP was built to fix that. Instead of forcing you into adjustable gas blocks or special charging handles, this suppressor vents gas forward and keeps back pressure low, so your rifle runs closer to how it does unsuppressed. Less gas to the face, a cleaner action, and a more pleasant day behind the gun, especially indoors or under night vision.
The core of this can is 3D-printed Inconel 625, fully welded to 17-4 stainless steel front and rear modules. That combination handles heat and erosion better than just about anything else in this class, which is why SilencerCo rates it for full-auto fire with no barrel length restrictions. The patented Hoplon blast baffle deflects debris away from the internals to extend service life on short barrels and hard-use guns, and the whole unit wears black V-Series high-temp Cerakote so the finish holds up as long as the metal does. At 5.98 inches long, 1.73 inches in diameter, and 15.2 ounces, it stays compact enough for a working carbine.
Low back pressure cans sometimes trade away suppression, but not here. SilencerCo lists the Velos LBP at around 137 dB at the muzzle on 5.56, and at TBAC's Sound Summit it ranked as the second quietest .223/5.56 suppressor at the shooter's ear out of more than a hundred cans tested. That at-ear number matters more than muzzle readings, since a big chunk of what you hear on a suppressed AR comes from the ejection port.
The Velos LBP uses SilencerCo's Charlie interface, and the package is ready to shoot out of the box. You get a Charlie ASR mount, an ASR flash hider in 1/2×28, an internal flash hider front cap to knock down muzzle flash, plus a spanner wrench and Charlie tool. It also plays nice with the full lineup of Charlie direct thread mounts and muzzle devices if you want to set up multiple hosts.
