Sometimes the simplest mounting option is the best one. The SilencerCo Alpha Direct Thread Mount in 5/8×24 lets you spin your can directly onto a threaded, fixed rifle barrel without any muzzle device in between. It threads onto the barrel for solid bore alignment, then seats into the rear of the suppressor and installs flush, so there is no extra hardware hanging out the back. Compared to running an ASR mount, going direct thread shaves roughly three quarters of an inch off the total length of your setup, which matters more than you might think on a hunting rifle you carry all day.
This 5/8×24 mount works with the Omega 9K and Omega 45K, the Octane 9, Octane 45, and Octane 45K, plus the Harvester 300, along with newer Alpha-compatible cans like the Spectre 9. The 5/8×24 thread pitch is the standard for most .30 caliber rifle barrels, so bolt guns in .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, .300 Win Mag, and AR-10 pattern rifles are right in its wheelhouse. Just verify your barrel's thread pitch before ordering, since SilencerCo makes this same mount in a bunch of other pitches too.
Construction is solid stainless steel with a black finish, so it shrugs off heat and carbon the way a mount living at the muzzle needs to. One important note: this is a fixed barrel mount only. It is not made for pistols with tilting or moving barrels, and running it on one can damage your suppressor. For rifles, rimfire hosts with fixed barrels, and pistol caliber carbines with the right threads, it is exactly the low-profile, no-fuss attachment method a lot of folks prefer.
If you own more than one threaded rifle, picking up a mount for each barrel is a smart move. Leave one on each gun and swapping your suppressor between hosts takes seconds instead of a wrench session at the bench.
It fits SilencerCo's Alpha mount pattern cans, including the Omega 9K, Omega 45K, Octane 9, Octane 45, Octane 45K, Harvester 300, and Spectre 9. It threads into the rear of the suppressor and sits flush once installed. If you run a different SilencerCo can, double check that it uses the Alpha mounting system before ordering.
Not if the pistol has a tilting or moving barrel, which covers most centerfire semi-auto handguns. This mount is designed strictly for fixed barrels like rifles and pistol caliber carbines, and using it on a recoil-operated pistol can damage your suppressor. For those hosts you would want a piston setup instead.
Length and simplicity. Going direct thread trims roughly 3/4 inch off the overall length of your suppressed setup compared to running an ASR muzzle device, and there is no brake or flash hider to buy for each rifle. The tradeoff is that swaps are a bit slower, which is why many people keep a direct thread mount on each threaded barrel they own.
5/8×24 is the most common thread pitch on .30 caliber rifle barrels, including .308, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .300 Win Mag bolt guns and AR-10s. Check the threads on your specific barrel before ordering, since some rifles ship with different pitches.
