The SB Tactical SBA5 is one of the most popular braces on the market for good reason. It builds on the proven A-series lineup with a cleaned-up profile, five positions of length adjustment, and an arm cuff sized after the original SB15. Slide it onto any platform that takes a mil-spec carbine receiver extension and you get a comfortable, repeatable point of contact that helps steady your AR pistol without piling on weight. At right around 9 ounces, it keeps your build nimble.
The five-position adjustment lets you dial in the length that fits you, your gear, and the way you shoot. Collapsed it measures about 7.5 inches, and it stretches out to roughly 10.25 inches extended, so it works whether you're running a slick setup or shooting in a heavy jacket. The included nylon strap wraps the forearm for extra stability, and it's fully adjustable so you can snug it down to your liking.
Baked right into the SBA5 is an integral, ambidextrous QD sling socket. That means you can run a quick-detach sling from either side without adding a separate mount, which keeps the whole package tidy. It's a small touch that makes a real difference when you're carrying the gun around or transitioning between hands.
This version comes in Olive Drab Green, a great match for tan, green, and multicam builds or anyone who wants to break away from plain black. It's made from a tough elasto-polymer with steel components, and like the rest of the SB Tactical line, it's designed and made in the USA by a veteran-owned company. Keep in mind the receiver extension is not included, so if you're starting from scratch you'll want to grab a mil-spec carbine buffer tube to go with it.
The SBA5 is compatible with any platform that accepts a mil-spec carbine receiver extension, which covers most AR-15 and AR-9 pistol builds. Just keep in mind the receiver extension, or buffer tube, is not included in the box. If you're building from the ground up, you'll need to add a mil-spec carbine tube to run it.
It's a pistol stabilizing brace. Some retailers list it under rifle parts, but SB Tactical designed it as a forearm brace to give AR pistols an extra point of contact. It includes the nylon arm strap for exactly that purpose.
