Straight-pull rifles have been the go-to for European driven hunts for decades, and Savage brought that concept stateside with the Impulse. The Driven Hunter version trims things down with a 20 inch carbon steel barrel and a lighter overall package, because when game is moving and you have a narrow window, a quick-pointing rifle earns its keep. No. The aluminum receiver has a one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail machined directly into it, so all you need are rings. The built-in 20 MOA cant also gives you extra elevation travel in your scope if you like to stretch the 6.5 Creedmoor out at longer distances.
