Instead of the usual lift, pull, push, drop routine, the Impulse bolt cycles straight back and straight forward. That cuts your bolt work in half and keeps your eye in the scope for follow-up shots, which is a real advantage when an animal is moving and seconds count. The bolt handle is removable and can be set up on either side, so left-handed hunters get a genuinely workable rifle rather than an afterthought. You can. The Proof Research barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for most 30 caliber and 6.5mm suppressors and muzzle devices. Just spin off the factory Omni-Port brake and thread on your can. Keep the brake handy though, since it does a nice job taming recoil on a rifle this light.
