Description

Left handed folks who shoot long range know the drill: the coolest precision rifles almost always come in right hand only. Savage fixed that with this version of the 110 Elite Precision, a true southpaw setup with a left hand bolt and left side ejection port, chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum with a 30 inch matte stainless barrel. This is the top of Savage's 110 lineup, and it shows in the details. The action is blueprinted at the factory, the bolt body wears a titanium nitride coating for slick cycling, and the receiver is stainless steel with a flash nitride treatment topped by a one piece 20 MOA rail so you can dial your scope for serious distance.

The MDT ACC Chassis Does the Heavy Lifting

The rifle sits in MDT's Adjustable Core Competition chassis finished in gray Cerakote, and it's a big part of what separates the Elite Precision from the standard 110 Precision. You get a full length ARCA rail running the entire underside of the forend for tripods, bipods, and barricade bags, plus adjustable length of pull from 14 to 15.5 inches and an adjustable comb so you can build a repeatable cheek weld behind big glass. An MDT vertical grip rounds it out, and the whole rig weighs just under 15 pounds, which is exactly what you want when you're sending 338 Lapua downrange. The recoil stays manageable and the reticle stays on target.

A 338 Lapua Built to Stretch Its Legs

The 30 inch stainless barrel uses a 1 in 9 twist that stabilizes the heavy, high BC bullets this cartridge is famous for, and the muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 for a brake or suppressor. Keep in mind Savage only includes the factory muzzle brake on short action calibers, so plan on adding your own muzzle device to this one. Feeding comes from a 5 round AICS pattern magazine, and the user adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set the pull anywhere from 1.5 to 4 pounds without a trip to the gunsmith. For ELR matches, steel at a mile, or just owning the far end of the range, this left hand 110 Elite Precision is a legit turnkey platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this Savage 110 Elite Precision come with a muzzle brake?

No, this 338 Lapua Mag model does not include a muzzle brake. Savage only ships the factory self-timing brake on the short action calibers in the Elite Precision line. The good news is the barrel is threaded 5/8×24, so bolting on your favorite brake or a suppressor is quick and easy.

Is the 110 Elite Precision a true left hand rifle?

Yes, this is a genuine left hand configuration with the bolt handle and ejection port both on the left side. It's not a right hand action dropped into an ambidextrous stock. That makes it one of the few factory precision rifles in 338 Lapua truly built for lefties.

What magazines does the Savage 110 Elite Precision 338 Lapua use?

It feeds from AICS pattern detachable box magazines and ships with one 5-round mag. The AICS pattern is one of the most common precision rifle magazine standards, so spares from MDT, Accurate-Mag, and other makers are easy to track down in 338 Lapua length.

Does this rifle come with sights or a scope rail?

There are no iron sights, but Savage installs a one piece 20 MOA rail on the receiver from the factory. That built-in cant gives you extra elevation travel in your scope, which matters a lot when you're pushing the 338 Lapua out to extreme distances. Just mount your optic and get to work.
