Description

There's a reason chassis rifles took over the long-range world, and the Savage 110 Precision is one of the smartest ways to get into one without building it yourself. Savage starts with a factory blueprinted 110 long action, drops it into an MDT LSS XL aluminum chassis wearing Flat Dark Earth Cerakote, and chambers it in 300 Win Mag, a cartridge that has been ringing steel and anchoring game at distance for decades. The 24 inch heavy carbon steel barrel comes threaded 5/8-24 and capped with a BA muzzle brake, which takes a real bite out of the recoil you'd expect from a magnum. At around 11.25 pounds, the rifle's heft works in your favor too, keeping the gun settled so you can spot your own impacts.

Why the MDT Chassis Sets the 110 Precision Apart

MDT builds some of the most respected chassis systems in precision shooting, and the LSS XL brings that pedigree here. The skeletonized buttstock adjusts for both comb height and length of pull, from 13.5 to 14.5 inches, so you can get proper eye alignment behind a big scope instead of craning your neck. The chassis also accepts AR pattern grips and stocks, and the extended forend with M-LOK slots gives you room to push a bipod farther out for a steadier hold. Feeding comes from a detachable 5 round AICS pattern magazine, the industry standard for precision bolt guns.

Dialed In With the AccuTrigger and 20 MOA Rail

Savage's AccuTrigger adjusts from 1.5 to 4 pounds without a trip to a gunsmith, and the break is clean enough that most folks never feel the need to swap it. Up top, a one piece 20 MOA EGW rail comes installed, giving you the extra elevation that matters when you're pushing 300 Win Mag past 1,000 yards.

Who the Savage 110 Precision 300 Win Mag Suits Best

This is a rifle for the shooter who wants to get serious about distance, whether that means PRS style matches, load development off the bench, or a dedicated long-range rig for open country. Add glass and ammo, and it's ready to go to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Savage 110 Precision come with a muzzle brake?

Yes, it ships with a BA muzzle brake already installed on the 5/8"-24 threaded muzzle. The brake does a nice job taming 300 Win Mag recoil, and if you'd rather run a suppressor or a different device, that thread pattern is one of the most common out there, so your options are wide open.

Can I swap the grip or stock on the MDT LSS XL chassis?

You can. The LSS XL chassis accepts AR pattern pistol grips and is compatible with many buttstocks, including MDT's Skeleton Rifle Stock series and carbine style options. The forend also has M-LOK slots for bipods, weights, and other accessories, so the rifle can grow with you as your needs change.

Is the 110 Precision ready for a scope out of the box?

Mostly, yes. It comes with a one piece 20 MOA EGW rail already mounted, which builds in extra elevation for long-range shooting. There are no iron sights, so you'll just need to add rings and the optic of your choice and you're set.

What magazines does the Savage 110 Precision 300 Win Mag use?

It feeds from AICS pattern detachable box magazines and includes one 5-round mag from the factory. Since AICS is the standard for precision bolt rifles, spare magazines from MDT, Magpul, and other makers in the correct long action magnum size are easy to find.
