The knurled bolt knob threads on at 5/16×24, so it runs great with gloves and swaps out easily if you have a favorite aftermarket knob.
The 20 inch Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped stainless barrel is the headline here. You get the stiffness and accuracy of a heavier profile without lugging the weight up a ridge, and the 6.5 PRC chambering makes the most of it with flat trajectories and strong downrange energy on deer, antelope, and elk-sized game. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and topped with an OmniPort brake to tame recoil, or spin it off and run your suppressor. At around 7.4 pounds bare, it carries like a mountain rifle but shoots like something built for the bench.
The Grayboe Phoenix 2 composite stock comes dressed in earth-tone camo with black web and includes an adjustable comb and length of pull, so you can dial the fit for your build and your optic height. An M-LOK rail on the forend handles bipods and accessories, and flush QD cups make sling attachment clean and quick. Savage also includes a one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail from the factory, which gives you extra elevation for stretching the 6.5 PRC out where it likes to work. Feeding comes from a three round AICS-style magazine seated in a low-profile one-piece bottom metal, and the user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set the pull anywhere from 1.5 to 4 pounds. Yes. The 20 inch Proof Research barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pattern for most 30 caliber and smaller suppressors and muzzle devices. The included OmniPort brake spins off so you can mount your can directly, and the shorter 20 inch barrel keeps overall length manageable with a suppressor attached.
No optic is included, but Savage installs a one-piece 20 MOA Picatinny rail at the factory. That canted rail gives you extra elevation adjustment for long-range work, so all you need to do is add rings and your glass of choice.
It feeds from AICS-pattern single-stack magazines through a low-profile one-piece magazine frame and trigger guard. One 3-round magazine ships with the rifle, and the AICS standard means spares and higher capacity options are widely available.
