Description

Left-handed long-range folks know the drill: most chassis rifles worth owning only come in right-hand configurations, and you end up reaching over the action every shot. Savage fixed that with this version of the 110 Precision. It's a proper left-hand bolt gun chambered in 6.5 PRC, a cartridge that pushes high-BC 6.5mm bullets faster than the Creedmoor and holds up beautifully past 1,000 yards, whether that means steel matches or a long poke at an elk.

Blueprinted Action Meets MDT Chassis

The heart of this rifle is Savage's factory blueprinted 110 action, squared up for consistency before it ever leaves the plant. It sits in an MDT LSS XL aluminum chassis finished in Flat Dark Earth Cerakote, with an adjustable comb and length of pull so you can dial the fit to your build and your optic height. The skeletonized buttstock keeps weight where it helps, and the AICS magazine well feeds from a 7 round AI-pattern mag that comes in the box. Trigger duty goes to Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which you can set anywhere from 1.5 to 4 pounds without a trip to a gunsmith.

A 24 Inch Heavy Barrel Built for the Long Game

The 24 inch heavy contour carbon steel barrel wears a 1:8 twist with 5R rifling, which stabilizes the long, sleek match and hunting bullets the 6.5 PRC was designed around. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with a BA muzzle brake installed, so recoil stays mild and you can spot your own impacts. Swap it for a suppressor whenever you're ready.

Optics-Ready Out of the Box

There are no iron sights here, and there shouldn't be. A one-piece 20 MOA EGW rail comes mounted to the receiver, giving you extra elevation for stretching a scope way out there. Add glass, a bipod, and a box of good ammo, and this rifle is ready to earn its keep from the first range trip. For southpaws who've been waiting on a turnkey precision rifle that runs the bolt on the correct side, this one's worth a hard look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Savage 110 Precision LH a true left-hand rifle or just a converted stock?

It's a genuine left-hand action, meaning the bolt handle and ejection port sit on the left side of the receiver. The MDT LSS XL chassis works for lefties as-is, with the adjustable comb and length of pull letting you fine-tune the fit. This is one of the few factory chassis rifles built for left-handed use from the ground up.

Does this rifle come with a scope or sights?

No, it ships without sights or optics, which is standard for a precision rifle in this class. Savage does include a one-piece 20 MOA EGW rail already mounted to the receiver, so you just need rings and glass. The 20 MOA of built-in cant gives you extra elevation adjustment for shooting at extended distances.

Can I run a suppressor on the 110 Precision in 6.5 PRC?

Yes. The 24 inch barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the most common thread pitch for 6.5mm and .30 caliber suppressors. Just remove the factory BA muzzle brake and thread on your can. The brake is a nice touch for unsuppressed shooting since it noticeably tames the 6.5 PRC's already moderate recoil.

What magazines does the Savage 110 Precision use?

It feeds from AICS-pattern (Accuracy International style) detachable box magazines, and one 7 round magazine comes with the rifle. AICS is the de facto standard in the precision rifle world, so spare mags from MDT, Magpul, Accurate Mag, and others are easy to find. Just make sure you buy short-action magnum mags sized for the 6.5 PRC's fatter case.
