Savage took their factory blueprinted Model 110 action, trimmed it down to pistol size, and dropped it into a one-piece machined aluminum chassis from Modular Driven Technologies. The result is the 110 PCS, a bolt-action pistol that shoots like a precision rifle but measures just 21.5 inches from muzzle to rear. This version comes chambered in .400 Legend, a straight-wall cartridge that hits with serious authority out of a short barrel, which makes it a natural fit for hunters working out of blinds and tight stands where a full-length rifle just gets in the way.
The 10.5-inch medium-contour carbon steel barrel wears a matte black finish and a threaded muzzle, so adding a suppressor or brake is a five-minute job. Feeding comes from a 10-round AICS-pattern detachable box magazine with an ambidextrous release, and the bolt is set up left-handed with right-side ejection, which lets you keep your firing hand on the grip while you run the action. The spiral-fluted bolt body cuts a little weight and looks sharp doing it. Up top, a one-piece 0 MOA rail is ready for the optic of your choice, and the 7-inch free-floating forend has M-LOK slots for a bipod or light. Savage even milled barricade grooves into the front of the magazine well for shooting off supports.
The user-adjustable AccuTrigger is the same unit that built the Model 110's reputation, adjustable from 2.5 to 6 pounds so you can dial in the pull you like. Pair that with the rigid MDT chassis and free-floated barrel and this thing punches well above what most folks expect from a 10.5-inch gun.
The chassis accepts most AR-15 pistol grips, and the Picatinny rail at the rear gives you a mounting point for accessories. At 5.6 pounds bare, it balances nicely off a bipod or bag. The 110 PCS platform earned American Hunter's 2023 Handgun of the Year, and once you get behind one it is easy to see why.
It is a deliberate design choice for right-handed use. With the bolt on the left, you can keep your firing hand on the grip and stay on target while your support hand cycles the action. Ejection still happens on the right side, so brass clears away from your face.
Yes, the 10.5-inch barrel comes threaded from the factory with an 11/16-24 thread pitch. Just make sure your suppressor or adapter matches that pitch and is rated for .400 Legend. The short barrel plus a can makes for a very handy, quiet setup in the blind.
No sights are included, but it ships optics ready with a one-piece 0 MOA Picatinny rail on the receiver. Most folks run a pistol scope, red dot, or LPVO depending on how they plan to use it. There is also a Picatinny section at the rear of the chassis for accessories.
The .400 Legend chambering makes it a strong pick for deer and hog hunting in areas where straight-wall cartridges are the go-to choice. Its compact 21.5-inch overall length is a big advantage in ground blinds, box stands, and thick brush. It also makes a fun and capable range gun off a bipod or bag.
