Savage rebuilt its flagship Model 110 line around one idea: the rifle should adapt to you, not the other way around. The 110 Core Hunter is the foundation of that new lineup, and this version pairs it with 6.5 PRC, a cartridge that has earned its keep on everything from pronghorn to elk thanks to flat trajectories and high BC bullets that buck the wind. The 22 inch carbon steel barrel wears a heavy sporter contour with straight fluting, which keeps a little useful weight up front for steadier offhand shots without turning the rifle into a boat anchor.
The headline feature here is the AccuFit V2 system. Length of pull and comb height adjust without any tools, so you can dial in your fit at the truck, swap between a t-shirt in September and a heavy parka in November, and get back behind the scope in seconds. Interchangeable grip modules let you change the feel of the wrist to match your hands, and M-Lok panels in the forend give you a spot for a bipod, sling mount, or light without drilling anything. The Flat Dark Gray synthetic stock shrugs off rain and rough handling the way a hunting stock should.
The barreled action wears a Black Ink Cerakote finish for serious corrosion resistance, and the jeweled bolt body runs smooth with a threaded bolt handle so you can add an aftermarket knob if that suits you. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger remains one of the best factory triggers in the business, letting you tune the pull to a crisp, predictable break. Feeding comes from a detachable 2-round box magazine, a sensible setup for a magnum-class hunting cartridge.
If you want one rifle that covers open country mule deer, timber elk, and long afternoons at the range, this combination is tough to argue with. Mild recoil for the performance it delivers, a stock that actually fits, and the accuracy reputation the Model 110 has carried for decades.
The standard Core Hunter runs a Black Ink Cerakote carbon steel barreled action with straight fluting and a Flat Dark Gray stock. The Pro steps up to a Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote finish, spiral fluting, a factory muzzle brake, camo stock options, and a one-piece 20 MOA optics rail. Both share the AccuFit V2 stock system and the AccuTrigger, so the core adjustability is the same.
Yes, that is the big upgrade with the AccuFit V2 system. Length of pull and comb height both adjust toollessly, so you can fine-tune your fit in the field or at the bench in seconds. The stock also accepts interchangeable grip modules to change how the rifle feels in your hand.
The 6.5 PRC pushes high ballistic coefficient bullets fast, which means a flat trajectory, less wind drift, and plenty of retained energy at distance. It is a favorite for open country deer, antelope, and elk hunting where shots can stretch out. Recoil is manageable for the performance you get, so most folks shoot it well.
Yes, it ships with one detachable 2-round box magazine. The new Model 110 lineup uses an updated synthetic magazine design that Savage says improves feeding and handling. Two rounds in the mag plus one in the chamber is a typical setup for magnum-class hunting cartridges like the 6.5 PRC.
