This is a semi-automatic .22 LR built like a precision rig, with an 18-inch heavy profile carbon steel barrel that wears deep spiral fluting to trim weight and shed heat during long strings. The muzzle comes threaded 1/2×28, so adding a suppressor or muzzle device is as simple as spinning one on. Feed it from the flush-fit 10-round rotary magazine and you get a clean profile that never snags on a bag or bench.
The olive drab green laminate stock is where this rifle really separates itself from the usual rimfire crowd. Laminate is dense and stable, so it shrugs off weather and holds zero better than a basic hardwood or budget synthetic stock. Savage shaped it with a vertical grip that puts your trigger hand in a natural, upright position, plus a rear hook on the underside of the buttstock so your support hand can drive the rifle from a rear bag. The A22 Timber Tactical is a semi-automatic rimfire that runs on Savage's proven A22 blowback action. If you prefer a bolt gun, Savage builds the B Series Timber Tactical with the same stock and barrel treatment. This A22 version gives you fast follow-up shots, which is handy for small game and high-volume range days.
Yes, the 18-inch barrel comes with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle from the factory, which is the standard thread pitch for most rimfire suppressors and muzzle devices. Just spin off the thread protector and you are ready to mount a can. A suppressed .22 LR semi-auto is about as pleasant as shooting gets.
The factory-installed 20 MOA Picatinny rail tilts your optic slightly downward, which frees up elevation travel in the scope for longer shots. Since .22 LR drops quickly past 100 yards, that extra adjustment range is a big help for long-range rimfire practice and NRL22 style matches. For close-range plinking it works just as well, you simply zero like normal.
It ships with one 10-round rotary magazine that sits flush with the bottom of the stock, so nothing hangs down to catch on bags or rests. Spare A22 rotary magazines are widely available from Savage, so picking up a few extras for match stages or range sessions is easy.
