Description

There was a time when shooting .338 Lapua Magnum at serious distance meant a custom build and a long wait. The Savage 110 Precision changes that math. Savage starts with a factory blueprinted 110 action, which means the action faces are trued up for consistency you can feel in every bolt cycle, then drops it into an MDT LSS XL aluminum chassis finished in Flat Dark Earth Cerakote. The result is a rifle that comes ready for long-range work straight from the box.

Built Around the MDT Chassis

The LSS XL chassis is the heart of this setup. The skeletonized stock adjusts for both comb height and length of pull, with LOP running from 13.5 to 14.5 inches, so you can get a proper cheek weld behind big glass instead of fighting the rifle for position. Feeding comes from a detachable 5-round AICS-pattern magazine, which opens the door to a huge aftermarket if you want spares or higher capacity down the road. Up top, a one-piece 20 MOA EGW rail gives you the extra elevation you need when dialing for targets way out past what most rifles ever see.

A 24 Inch Heavy Barrel That Means Business

The carbon steel heavy barrel wears a matte black finish and a 1:9.25 twist that stabilizes the long, heavy bullets the .338 Lapua was built around. Savage caps it with their BA muzzle brake to tame recoil, and the 5/8×24 threading means swapping to a suppressor or different brake is simple. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set pull weight anywhere from 1.5 to 4 pounds, so you can run it light for prone precision work or a bit heavier for field use.

Who the 110 Precision Fits

At just over 11 pounds bare, this is a rifle built for the bench, the bipod, and extreme long-range steel, not a mountain hunt. If you have been wanting to get into the 1,000-yard-plus game with a cartridge that carries real energy at distance, this Savage delivers a lot of purpose-built capability without the custom shop price of admission. Add a quality scope and rings, and you are ready to go to work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Savage 110 Precision come with a scope or sights?

No, this rifle ships without sights or a scope. It does come with a one-piece 20 MOA EGW rail already installed, so all you need is a set of rings and quality glass. The 20 MOA of built-in cant gives you extra elevation adjustment for true long-range shooting.

How bad is the recoil on this .338 Lapua?

The .338 Lapua Magnum is a stout cartridge, but this rifle handles it better than most. Between the 11-pound weight and the factory BA muzzle brake, felt recoil is much more manageable than you might expect. Most people find it comfortable enough for extended range sessions, though hearing protection is a must with that brake.

Can I use aftermarket magazines with the 110 Precision?

Yes. The MDT LSS XL chassis feeds from standard AICS-pattern magazines, which is one of the most widely supported magazine footprints in the precision rifle world. That makes finding spare or higher capacity mags easy.

Is the barrel threaded for a suppressor?

It is. The 24 inch heavy barrel is threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard pitch for most .30 caliber and larger suppressors and muzzle devices. Just remove the factory BA brake and you can mount a can rated for .338 Lapua Magnum pressures.
