Description

The Rifle Basix SAV-1 is the trigger a lot of Savage owners wish came from the factory. It's a fully adjustable, drop-in replacement built for the 10/110 platform and the Axis/Edge rifles, and it gives you a lighter, cleaner break than the standard trigger or the AccuTrigger it can replace. Weight of pull adjusts anywhere from 14 ounces up to 3 pounds, which puts it right in the sweet spot for hunting and general range work.

Why the SAV-1 Feels Better Than Factory

Every internal lever is investment cast from A-2 tool steel, then CNC machined and heat treated so the engagement surfaces stay smooth and wear-resistant over the long haul. The result is a let-off free of the creep and drag folks complain about with older Savage triggers. You get three-way adjustment for pull weight, sear engagement, and overtravel, so you can dial it in exactly how you like it whether you're setting up a deer rifle around 2.5 pounds or lightening things up for the bench.

Fitment and What the SAV-1 Replaces

This one covers a lot of ground. It fits short and long actions, left and right hand models, and all 110-type centerfire rifles made after January 1966, including Models 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 110, 111, 112, 114, and 116. It also swaps into the Stevens 200, the Savage 210 slug gun, and Savage muzzleloaders. What sets the SAV-1 apart from other Rifle Basix options is that it plays nice with the AccuStock and works on rifles with the bottom bolt release near the trigger guard.

Installing the SAV-1 at Home

Installation is a DIY job that most folks knock out in under an hour with basic tools and the included instructions. The trigger reuses your factory frame, pivot pin, and safety, so there's no gunsmithing, no cutting, and no modifying the action or stock. Rifle Basix backs it with a lifetime warranty and their customer service has a strong reputation among Savage owners who've needed a hand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the SAV-1 replace my Savage AccuTrigger?

Yes. The SAV-1 is designed to replace both the standard Savage trigger and the AccuTrigger. During install you'll use the two longer grub screws for an AccuTrigger swap and the shorter ones for a traditional trigger, all covered in the included instructions.

Does the Rifle Basix SAV-1 work with the AccuStock and bottom bolt release rifles?

It does, and that's what separates the SAV-1 from some other Rifle Basix Savage triggers. It's built to accommodate the AccuStock as well as rifles with the bottom bolt release near the trigger guard. Some owners add a thin washer between the trigger guard and stock on bottom-release rifles to keep pressure off the trigger.

How light can I set the SAV-1 trigger?

The SAV-1 adjusts from 14 ounces up to 3 pounds of pull weight, so it's geared toward hunting and general shooting. If you're chasing an ultra-light target pull below that range, Rifle Basix makes the SAV-2, which goes down to around 4 ounces but does not support the AccuStock.

Is the SAV-1 hard to install myself?

Not at all. It reuses your factory trigger frame, pivot pin, and safety, so there's no gunsmithing needed and most people finish in under an hour. You'll want a set of screwdrivers, the included Allen wrench, and a trigger pull gauge to set your final weight.
