The synthetic Ergo Max stock uses geometry pulled straight from Sauer's higher-end S 101 and S 404 lines. The comb rises toward the rear to line your eye up naturally behind a scope, recoil gets directed down and back instead of into your cheek, and the neutral cast means it fits left-handed folks just as well as righties. A Soft Touch coating gives it a grippy, weatherproof feel on cold mornings.
The receiver is drilled and tapped and accepts Remington 700 pattern bases, so scope mounting options are everywhere. Feeding comes from a flush-fit detachable double-stack magazine holding five rounds, and at 6.7 pounds bare the rifle carries easily all day.
