The SAR9 SOCOM Compact is SAR USA's tactical-forward take on their proven SAR9 platform, built around a compact frame that still checks every box a serious suppressor host needs. The forged steel slide wears a durable OD Green Cerakote finish, houses a 4.7" threaded barrel with 1/2×28 TPI threads, and sits atop an OD Green polymer frame with a three-slot Picatinny rail built right in. At 8 inches overall and just over 28 ounces with an empty magazine, it handles like a compact without sacrificing the hardware that usually requires an aftermarket upgrade. This specific configuration ships with a 10-round magazine, making it the right fit for buyers in capacity-restricted areas who still want the full SOCOM experience.
The slide comes cut for the RMSc footprint, which also accommodates Holosun K-series optics, so mounting a micro red dot is straightforward without buying an adapter plate. Meprolight tritium night sights are installed at suppressor height, meaning they stay visible over the top of a standard 9mm can. The serrated cooling channels machined into the front of the slide are more than cosmetic; they aid in heat management during extended range sessions and give you aggressive purchase for press checks. The SAR9 SOCOM Compact frame is fully compatible with the standard SAR9 Compact magazine line, so standard 15-round and extended 21-round magazines will fit and function in this pistol. The 10-round magazine ships with this specific configuration.
The pistol ships with three interchangeable backstraps and three sets of side grip panels in small, medium, and large sizes. A single pin in the frame holds the backstrap, and it swaps out with the included punch tool. The removable aluminum magwell extension can also be detached with a single screw if you prefer a slimmer base profile.

Third-party Kydex makers have also begun supporting this model as it has grown in popularity, so options are expanding. Because of the threaded barrel, verify that any holster you choose has enough clearance at the muzzle end for the thread protector.
The SOCOM Compact gets a notable upgrade here. The standard SAR9 uses a curved polymer trigger, while the SOCOM switches to a flat-face aluminum trigger with a serrated face and a wide red safety lever. Pull weight comes in around 3.5 to 4.5 pounds with a clean 90-degree break, and it has received consistently strong feedback for feeling crisp and confidence-inspiring for the price point.
