The SAR9 SC is one of the more capable subcompacts on the market right now, and this is the factory magazine that goes with it. Built by Sarsilmaz to the same specs as what ships with the pistol, the SAR9SC-15 holds 15 rounds of 9mm in a steel body with a black finish and a removable polymer floor plate. It's the kind of spare that drops right in, locks up correctly, and feeds without drama.
The construction here matters. SAR Arms uses a steel magazine body with a corrosion-resistant coating, steel feed lips for consistent round alignment, and an anti-tilt polymer follower that keeps rounds feeding straight even as the mag gets light toward the end. The removable baseplate makes cleaning and inspection straightforward, which is especially relevant if this magazine is riding in a carry rig day after day.
The 15-round capacity is worth a moment. On the SAR9 SC, which comes standard with a 12-round flush-fit magazine, this extended mag uses a sleeve to give the grip a longer surface to hold onto. That's a meaningful upgrade for range sessions or home defense setups where shootability matters more than minimal printing. It ships with a magazine sleeve for proper fit in the SAR9 SC frame.
If you carry the SAR9 SC, having at least one quality spare on hand is just good practice. Factory mags are the safest bet for reliability because they're made to the same tolerances as the original, and with a pistol you're trusting for self-defense, that's not where you want to cut corners.
This magazine is designed specifically for the SAR9 SC subcompact pistol. The SAR9 SC uses a different frame size than the full-size SAR9 and the SAR9 Compact, so the magazines are not interchangeable. Always match the magazine to your specific SAR9 model to ensure proper fit and reliable function.
Yes, this magazine ships with a sleeve that properly interfaces the longer 15-round tube with the SAR9 SC's subcompact grip frame. The SAR9 SC's standard flush-fit capacity is 12 rounds, so the sleeve fills the gap and gives you a more secure grip surface when running the extended 15-rounder.
This is a genuine factory OEM magazine made by Sarsilmaz, the Turkish manufacturer behind the SAR Arms brand. It's built to the same specifications and tolerances as the magazine that ships with the pistol. For a carry or defense firearm, sticking with factory magazines is generally the smart move.
Most people who carry a handgun regularly aim to have at least two to three quality spare magazines total. Having multiple magazines lets you rotate them in use and storage, which helps maintain spring tension over time. For range practice, more spares means less time loading and more time shooting.
The feed lips are steel, which is important for long-term durability and consistent round alignment. Steel feed lips hold their geometry better over time and repeated loading cycles compared to polymer alternatives. Combined with the anti-tilt polymer follower, the magazine is built for reliable, consistent feeding.
