Now it's back as the Red Label III, and this time the work is being done by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company, one of the most respected fine gun makers in the country. That partnership shows in the details, from the finely polished alloy steel receiver to the hand-fitted locking system designed to stay tight after thousands of rounds.
This model 4511 pairs 20 gauge barrels with a 30 inch length, and the result is a gun that tracks crossing birds and clays with a smooth, deliberate swing. Longer barrels have become the go-to for sporting clays for good reason, and here you get that sight radius in a package that still only weighs about 6.5 pounds. The brazed barrel assembly wears a matted vent rib with a brass bead up front, and the 3 inch chambers handle both 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells. It has 3 inch chambers, so it runs both 2 3/4 and 3 inch 20 gauge shells. That gives you plenty of range, from light target loads on the clays course to stouter 3 inch hunting loads for ducks and pheasants.
Not with this gun. At around 6.5 pounds it carries easily all day, and the extra barrel length adds surprisingly little weight while giving you a longer sight radius and a smoother swing. It's a great pick if you split time between the field and sporting clays, where longer barrels shine on crossing targets.
