There is something satisfying about running .45 ACP through a carbine. The Ruger LC Carbine takes that big, slow-moving round and pairs it with a 16.25 inch barrel and a shoulder stock, which means softer recoil, better velocity, and way easier hits than any pistol in the same caliber. Ruger built this one around their bolt-over-barrel layout with the magazine housed in the grip, so the weight sits between your hands and the whole gun feels balanced and quick to point. At 7.1 pounds and 30.6 inches overall, it is a handy little rifle, and with the reversible side-folding stock collapsed it shrinks to about 28.66 inches for easy storage in a truck, safe, or range bag.
The alloy steel barrel wears a black nitride finish and comes threaded .578×28 with a thread protector installed, ready for a brake, flash hider, or a .45 caliber can. Subsonic by nature, .45 ACP is one of the best suppressor calibers out there, and this platform was clearly built with that in mind. It is also rated for SAAMI-spec +P ammo, so you have flexibility on the loading bench and at the ammo counter. Feeding is handled by Glock-pattern full-size .45 magazines, and one 13-round mag ships in the box.
Ruger did not phone in the details here. You get a 1911-style ambidextrous manual safety, right and left-hand bolt releases, a reversible charging handle, a reversible extended magazine release, and multiple QD sling sockets. The Secure Action fire control system pairs a protected internal hammer with a bladed trigger that breaks clean and resets short. Up top, adjustable Ruger Rapid Deploy folding sights handle windage and elevation, and the Picatinny rail takes a red dot or optic of your choice. The Type III hard-coat anodized aluminum handguard has M-LOK slots on seven sides for lights and accessories, and the folding stock adjusts from 12.6 to 14.6 inches of pull or swaps out for AR-pattern stocks if you want to customize.

It feeds from full-size Glock-pattern .45 ACP magazines, the same ones that run in a Glock 21, and ships with one 13-round mag. Older Glock mags with a single latch slot will still work, but the magazine release has to stay on the left side as it comes from the factory. That means cheap, easy-to-find spare mags in all sorts of capacities.
Yes. The 16.25 inch alloy steel barrel is threaded .578×28 and includes a thread protector, so a .45 caliber suppressor, brake, or flash hider spins right on. Since standard .45 ACP loads are already subsonic, this carbine makes an excellent, quiet suppressor host without needing special ammo.
You can. Ruger rates the LC Carbine for SAAMI-spec +P .45 ACP, which gives you room to run hotter defensive loads. Standard pressure ammo works fine too and keeps recoil about as gentle as it gets in a carbine.
The factory stock folds to either side, is reversible, and adjusts for length of pull from 12.6 to 14.6 inches. If you want something different, it can be replaced with AR-pattern stocks, so customizing the fit is simple. Folded, the whole carbine stores in a very compact footprint.
