Description

The Midwest Industries MI-1022-TDC takes the Ruger 10/22 Takedown and opens up a whole world of AR-15 parts compatibility. It's machined from a single billet of 6061 aluminum and hard-coat anodized, so you're getting a rigid, no-flex interface between your barreled action and whatever furniture you want to hang off the back. If you've already got a pile of AR grips, stocks, and rail sections sitting in a parts bin, this is the piece that lets you put them to work on a .22.

What the MI-1022-TDC Brings to Your 10/22 Takedown

The back end is threaded to accept AR-15/M4 buffer tubes, and it plays nice with both commercial and mil-spec tubes. Keep in mind the buffer tube and castle nut are not included, so plan on sourcing those along with the stock and grip you want to run. The chassis also features two anti-rotation QD sling sockets built in, which makes setting up a single or two-point sling quick and clean. Mounting hardware comes in the box, and Midwest kept the profile slim and light so you're not loading the gun down.

Fit Notes Before You Order the 10/22 Takedown Chassis

This one is specific: it's built for the newer Ruger 10/22 Takedown models only. It will not work on a standard fixed-barrel 10/22. If you're running a 10/22 Charger in the Takedown configuration, it'll fit that too. Worth noting that it's designed around factory Ruger components, so aftermarket receivers, drop-in triggers, and non-Ruger trigger groups may not cooperate.

Why Folks Reach for This Chassis

The 10/22 is already one of the most upgraded rimfire rifles out there, and this chassis is a natural next step for anyone who wants AR-style ergonomics on a light, low-recoil trainer. It keeps the takedown rifle's packability intact while giving you M-LOK and AR furniture options for optics, lights, and whatever else you want to bolt on. At right around 14 ounces installed, it adds very little weight for a big jump in versatility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the MI-1022-TDC chassis fit a standard Ruger 10/22?

No, this chassis is built specifically for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown. It will not work on a standard fixed-barrel 10/22. If you're running a 10/22 Charger in the Takedown configuration, it will fit that model.

Does the 10/22 Takedown chassis include a buffer tube and stock?

No. The rear of the chassis is threaded to accept an AR-15/M4 buffer tube, but the tube, castle nut, stock, and grip are all sourced separately. The good news is it accepts standard AR-15 furniture, so you have plenty of options to build it exactly how you want.

What kind of stocks and grips work with this chassis?

It's threaded for both commercial and mil-spec AR-15/M4 buffer tubes, so you can run most AR-pattern collapsible or fixed stocks. The grip mount accepts standard AR-15 pistol grips as well. That AR compatibility is the whole point here, letting you reuse parts you likely already have.

Does it work with aftermarket triggers or receivers?

The chassis is designed around factory Ruger components, so aftermarket receivers, drop-in triggers, and non-Ruger trigger groups may not fit correctly. For the best results, stick with a stock Ruger 10/22 Takedown action. Any modification to the chassis itself will void the warranty.
