Description

The Ruger 10/22 is one of the most popular rimfire rifles ever built, but the stubby factory mount leaves a lot of folks fighting for enough room to get proper eye relief. This EGW 0 MOA Picatinny rail fixes that in a hurry. It's a one-piece base machined from domestic 6061-T6 extruded aluminum with full-length Picatinny cross slots, so you can slide your rings exactly where you want them and run everything from a compact red dot to a full-size rimfire scope. It mounts directly to the receiver using the included hardware, which is a big step up in strength and repeatability over the short factory rail.

What the EGW 10/22 Rail Brings to the Table

The 0 MOA cant is the right pick for general range work, plinking, and hunting inside roughly 150 yards, where you don't need any built-in elevation bias. The rail measures about 6.276 inches long with a 2.57 inch center spread between the two middle receiver holes, and it stands roughly 0.4 inches from the top of the receiver to the top of the rail. A relief channel milled down the center keeps the weight down to around 2 ounces, so you're not adding bulk to a light, handy little rifle. The finish is a tumbled, sandblasted, Type II matte black anodize that holds up well to real-world handling.

Fitment Notes for Your Ruger 10/22

This base is cut specifically for the standard Ruger 10/22 and will not fit the 10/22 Takedown model, so make sure you've got a non-takedown receiver before ordering. It accepts any Picatinny or Weaver-style rings, which opens up a huge range of optic choices. In many cases the low profile still leaves room to see the factory iron sights, though that depends on your ring height and optic. EGW recommends measuring your receiver's hole spacing against the 2.57 inch center spread just to confirm a clean fit.

Getting It Mounted

Installation is straightforward. EGW ships the rail with #6-48 x 1/4 inch Torx screws and a T-10 bit, and recommends a drop of blue Loctite with the screws torqued to 20 inch-pounds for a mount that stays put shot after shot. A torque wrench or driver like a FAT Wrench makes dialing that in easy. The whole thing, from the rail to the hardware to the packaging, is made in the USA and backed by EGW's reputation for solid, no-nonsense machining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this EGW rail fit a Ruger 10/22 Takedown?

No. This 46100 base is cut specifically for the standard, non-takedown Ruger 10/22 and will not fit the 10/22 Takedown model. If you have a Takedown, you'll want EGW's dedicated Takedown rail instead. It's worth measuring your receiver's hole spacing against the 2.57 inch center spread before ordering to confirm a clean fit.

Does 0 MOA or 20 MOA make more sense for my 10/22?

The 0 MOA version is the better choice for general range use, plinking, and hunting out to around 150 yards, since it adds no built-in elevation bias. If you're shooting long-range rimfire or competition past that distance, a 20 MOA rail gives you extra elevation to work with. For most 10/22 owners, 0 MOA covers the bulk of what they'll do.

Can I still use the factory iron sights with the rail installed?

In many cases, yes, since the rail sits fairly low on the receiver. That said, it comes down to your ring height and the size of your optic, so there's no guarantee the rear sight stays visible once a scope is mounted. If keeping the irons clear is a priority, plan your ring height accordingly.

What do I need to install this rail?

Everything needed comes in the box, including the #6-48 x 1/4 inch Torx screws and a T-10 bit. EGW recommends a drop of blue Loctite on the screws and torquing them to 20 inch-pounds, so a torque driver is handy for getting it right. From there you just add your Picatinny or Weaver rings and your optic.
