It bundles a 6-position mil-spec receiver extension with a carbine buffer, action spring, castle nut, and end plate, so you get every piece needed to mount a collapsible stock without hunting down parts one at a time. The receiver extension is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, the same high-strength alloy used on serious mil-spec builds. That matters because 7075 holds up to years of the buffer cycling against it far better than the cheaper 6061 tubes floating around out there. The 6-position design gives you plenty of adjustment room to set length of pull for different shooters, gear, or shooting positions, and the mil-spec sizing means it plays nice with collapsible stocks from Magpul, BCM, and just about anyone else building to standard dimensions.
This is a carbine-length setup, which is the right call for the vast majority of collapsible-stock builds running carbine or mid-length gas systems. The standard carbine buffer that ships with it works well for most 5.56 and .223 setups, and if you ever run into a picky over-gassed rifle, the tube accepts heavier carbine buffers like an H1 or H2 down the road. Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with lower work, though you'll want an armorer's wrench to properly torque and stake the castle nut.
One thing to keep in mind: a buttstock is not included in this kit. You're getting the buffer system hardware itself, which is exactly what you want if you already have a stock picked out or you're finishing a stripped lower.
