The Circuit Judge Tuffy is what happens when Rossi crosses their revolving carbine with the rugged, stripped-down attitude of the Tuffy shotgun line. The result is a five-shot revolver rifle that digests .45 Colt, 2.5 inch .410 shotshells, and 3 inch .410 magnums in any order you load them, straight from the same cylinder. No swapping barrels, no changing cylinders, just load whatever the job calls for and go. Snake loads in two chambers and hard-hitting .45 Colt in the other three is a classic setup for a walk through hog country.
At roughly 4.7 pounds, this is the lightest gun in the Circuit Judge family, and you feel it the second you pick one up. The black synthetic thumbhole stock has a short 10.5 inch length of pull, which keeps the whole package quick to shoulder and easy for smaller-framed folks to run comfortably. There is a visible shell storage indicator built into the buttstock so you can see spare rounds at a glance, plus a Picatinny rail on the handguard for a light or other accessory. Up front you get a red fiber optic sight that grabs your eye fast in low light, and the DA/SA trigger lets you choose between a quick double-action pull or cocking the hammer for a lighter, more precise break.
Rossi does not send this one out bare. The box includes a scope mount base for adding optics, a hammer extension that makes cocking easier under glass, and a straight rifled choke with a thread protector sleeve to tighten up shot patterns from the 18.5 inch rifled barrel. A transfer bar safety and the Taurus Security System round out the safety features.
