Rock River Arms has been building ARs in Illinois since the 90s, and the RRAGE line is their way of getting that same shop quality into a no-frills package. The RRAGE LAR-15M pistol takes the formula and shrinks it down to a 7 inch chrome moly barrel with a 1:9 twist, chambered in 5.56 NATO so you can run .223 Rem or 5.56 without a second thought. At 4.8 pounds and just 24.75 inches overall, this thing swings fast and stays out of the way, whether it's riding in a truck, staged at home, or getting worked hard at the range.
The lower is a forged RRA LAR-15M, and up top you get an extruded aluminum A4 upper with a port door and a clean slick-side look with no forward assist. A low profile gas block tucks under the 7.25 inch RRAge free float aluminum handguard, which is M-LOK compatible so lights, hand stops, and sling mounts bolt on wherever you want them. The muzzle wears a standard A2 flash hider on 1/2-28 threads, so swapping to a different device down the road is simple. A single stage trigger and A2 grip keep the controls familiar to anyone who's spent time behind an AR.

A 7 inch barrel will run noticeably slower than a 16 inch carbine, typically in the neighborhood of 2,300 to 2,500 fps with 55 grain loads instead of roughly 3,100. That's still plenty for close range work and range use, which is exactly what this platform is built for. Expect more muzzle flash and bark than a carbine, so a good muzzle device or ear pro strategy is worth thinking about.
