Bismuth has earned a permanent spot in a lot of gun bags, and it patterns best when the choke is cut for it. That's exactly what the Rob Roberts RRaptor BIZ is. This one fits Invector-threaded 20 gauge shotguns and is designed around bismuth shot, giving you denser, more consistent patterns than a general-purpose tube can manage with the same loads. It's part of Rob Roberts' RRaptor series, which comes out of years of choke development and machining to tolerances well past what most shops bother with.
The body is turned from 17-4 PH U.S. stainless steel, so it holds up to weather, cleaning, and years of hard use without corroding. The internal geometry is tuned for the softer, lighter nature of bismuth pellets, which is where a lot of standard tubes leave patterns on the table. One thing worth knowing up front: this is a bismuth-specific choke, so you'll want to run 100 percent bismuth through it rather than blended shot to get the results it was built for.
Beyond function, the BIZ carries the RRaptor family styling. It wears a green Cerakote finish and machined claw marks in place of traditional knurling, which gives you a solid grip when you're swapping tubes with cold or wet hands in the blind. It's a clean-looking tube that stands out in the case.
A quick note for over/under owners: because of the way this choke is designed, it goes in only one barrel, not both. In every other setup, it threads right into your Invector-pattern barrel and gets you patterning your bismuth loads the way they were meant to shoot.
This tube is built specifically for 100 percent bismuth shot, and that's where it patterns best. You'll want to avoid blended shot loads and stick with straight bismuth to get the tight, consistent patterns the choke was designed for. Matching the choke to the shot material is the whole point of the BIZ.
It's cut for the standard Invector thread pattern in 20 gauge, so it fits shotguns using that system. If you're not sure what threads your barrel has, check your owner's manual or the markings near the muzzle. There's a separate Invector Plus version for barrels that use that pattern instead.
No. Because of the way the RRaptor BIZ is designed, it can only go in one barrel of an over/under, not both. For a single-barrel gun this isn't a concern, and it threads in like any other tube.
The body is machined from 17-4 PH U.S. stainless steel, which resists corrosion and stands up to hard field use. It's finished in green Cerakote with machined claw marks that give you a better grip when installing or removing the tube. That combination holds up well to weather and repeated cleaning.
