The M&P Shield EZ earned its reputation by being easy to rack, easy to shoot, and friendly to folks with smaller or weaker hands. Adding a micro red dot makes that already approachable pistol even quicker on target, and this Trijicon RMRcc dovetail mount is the clean way to get there. Instead of sending your slide off to be milled, the mount drops into the existing rear sight dovetail and gives your RMRcc a stable, repeatable platform.
This plate replaces the factory rear sight and uses the slide's dovetail cut to lock into place. Because it works with what's already on your pistol, there's no permanent change to the gun. Pull the mount later and your Shield EZ goes right back to running irons, which is a nice bit of insurance if you ever sell it or want to go back to the original setup. The fit is machined specifically for the M&P 9 and .380 Shield EZ, so it's purpose-built rather than a one-size-fits-most adapter.
Trijicon went with steel here, and it tips the scale right around 32 to 34 grams. Steel holds up to repeated recoil and resists deformation under the clamping and screw tension that mounting hardware sees over time. It's a small part, but it's the piece doing the heavy lifting of keeping your optic square and holding zero, so the material choice matters.
The RMRcc is Trijicon's slimmed-down version of the proven RMR, built with a narrower footprint so it rides compact and concealed-carry slides without hanging over the edges. That slimmer profile is exactly why it works so well on the Shield EZ. Keep in mind the optic itself is sold separately, and because getting a dovetail sight seated correctly takes the right tools and some muscle, professional installation is the recommended route. Trijicon backs the mount with a limited lifetime warranty.
This mount is machined specifically for the Smith & Wesson M&P 9 and .380 Shield EZ. It is not designed for the standard M&P Shield or M2.0 models, which use a different Trijicon mount. Always confirm your exact model and generation before ordering so the plate seats square.
