Description

The RIX LPR-L6R takes everything that made the LEAP line a favorite among predator and hog hunters and sharpens the parts that matter after dark. At the heart of it sits a 640×512 VOx uncooled sensor with a 12 micron pixel pitch and NETD rated under 12 mK, which means it picks up the smallest temperature differences and turns them into a clean, detailed image. Pair that with a fast 50mm F0.9 objective lens and a 50 Hz refresh rate and you get a bright, smooth picture even when the weather turns to rain, fog, or heavy humidity.

What Sets the LPR-L6R Apart

The standout feature is the continuous 3x to 9x optical zoom. Instead of leaning on digital magnification like most thermals, the LPR-L6R dials up true optical power while keeping the sensor's native resolution intact, so your target stays sharp as you zoom in. An additional 4x digital zoom adds reach when you need it, and a single lever near the eyepiece runs both optical and digital adjustments for one-handed changes on the fly. Everything feeds a 1.03-inch AMOLED display at 2560×2560 resolution for a vivid, high-contrast view.

Ranging and Ballistics Built Into the LPR-L6R

The integrated laser rangefinder reaches out to 2,187 yards with accuracy around one yard, and the aiming point can be adjusted to sit right on your reticle. The onboard ballistic calculator pulls in readings from built-in temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure sensors, then uses your zero data to give you a corrected hold. You can store up to five zeroing profiles, which is handy if you run this scope across more than one rifle.

Built Tough for the Field

The magnesium alloy housing trims roughly 30 percent of the weight compared to the previous LEAP series while keeping it rugged, and it carries an IP67 rating against dust and water. It stands up to recoil on rifled rifles up to 1,000 g, runs on a removable 21700 battery for about 5.5 hours, and includes extras like Picture-in-Picture, Recoil Activated Video, onboard photo and video recording to 64GB of memory, and Wi-Fi streaming through the RIX+ app. It mounts on a standard 30mm ring setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the RIX LPR-L6R have a real optical zoom or just digital?

It has a true continuous optical zoom from 3x to 9x, which is a big part of what makes this scope stand out. Unlike thermals that rely mostly on digital magnification, the LPR-L6R increases optical power while keeping the sensor's native 640×512 resolution, so your image stays sharp. On top of that you get up to 4x of additional digital zoom for extra reach.

How far can the built-in laser rangefinder on the LPR-L6R reach?

The integrated LRF ranges out to about 2,187 yards with accuracy of roughly one yard. The aiming point is adjustable so you can line it up with your reticle, and it offers both continuous and single ranging modes. Those distance readings feed directly into the onboard ballistic calculator for a corrected hold.

What battery does the RIX LPR-L6R use and how long does it run?

It runs on a removable 21700 rechargeable battery and gives around 5.5 hours of runtime at room temperature. It's also compatible with 18650 batteries using the included adapter sleeve, and the kit comes with two 21700 batteries plus a charger. You can run external power through the USB Type-C port as well.

How does the LPR-L6R mount to a rifle?

The LPR-L6R uses a standard 30mm tube and ships with a 30mm ring Picatinny mount, so it drops onto any standard Picatinny rail. The magnesium housing keeps the whole package light at about 2.01 pounds, and it's rated to handle recoil on rifled rifles up to 1,000 g.
