The Rise Armament Reliant Hunter replaces that stock unit with a single-stage trigger that breaks clean, without the mushy pre-travel or grit that makes precise shot placement harder than it should be. It ships preset around 3.5 pounds, right in that sweet spot for hunting rifles that need to stay light enough for accuracy but heavy enough for safe carry through brush and blinds, and the pull weight can be adjusted anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds if that preset isn't quite your speed.
This trigger earns the drop-in label because every internal part lives inside one machined aluminum cassette, so there's nothing loose to juggle while you're pinning it into the action. Punch out the two pins holding your factory trigger, slide the Reliant Hunter cassette into place, and tap the pins back through. That covers most clone actions right out of the box. On a true Remington 700 receiver, you'll mount the included bolt release onto the housing first, which only adds a couple extra minutes with the hardware provided.
A lot of aftermarket triggers make you pull the barreled action out of the stock just to tweak the pull weight. The Reliant Hunter's adjustment screw is accessible from outside the housing, so a .050 inch hex key (included) lets you move the weight up or down between 2 and 5 pounds without touching a single stock screw. That means you can fine tune it at the bench between range trips instead of clearing an afternoon for it.
The housing is machined from 6061 aluminum and anodized to hold up to the scrapes and moisture that come with hunting a rifle instead of just keeping it in a safe. Internal components are heat-treated tool steel, built to take repeated hits without wearing out of spec. Yes, it's built to universally fit both true Remington 700 receivers and most 700 clone actions. On a clone action it typically drops right in as is, while on a genuine Rem 700 you'll mount the included bolt release onto the housing before installing.

The Reliant Hunter is built with field carry in mind, with a heavier preset pull weight suited to hunting conditions. The Reliant Pro is tuned lighter for precision and bench work, adjustable from under a pound up past three pounds, and adds an overtravel adjustment the Hunter doesn't have.
