Rio's TG368 Game Load is built for the kind of hunting where consistent, predictable performance matters most. Whether you're working through fields for dove, jumping coveys of quail, or taking small game at moderate range, these shells deliver tight, uniform patterns that let you focus on your hunting instead of wondering about your ammunition.
The 1 1/4 ounce shot load is substantial for #8 shot in a 12 gauge, giving you denser patterns without unnecessary recoil. Running at 1250 fps, the TG368 maintains a smooth ballistic curve that makes lead tracking second nature, especially important when your target is moving. The 2.75-inch shell length is the industry standard, so you get reliable cycling through pumps, semi-autos, and over-unders without any hassle.
Rio has been manufacturing ammunition for over 125 years, and that experience shows in the TG368. Every shell is loaded to the same specifications, shot to shot. That consistency is what separates ammunition you can count on from ammunition you hope works. When the bird gets up, you don't want to be thinking about whether your next shot will pattern the same as the last one.
This isn't target ammunition dressed up as hunting ammo. The TG368 Game Load is engineered for actual hunting situations where follow-up shots matter and you're moving from point to point. The shell cycles smoothly in most 12 gauge shotguns and delivers the kind of penetration and spread that makes ethical kills possible at practical hunting distances.
The TG368 Game Load works well for upland birds including dove, quail, and other small game at moderate range. The #8 shot size provides good pattern density for these faster-moving targets without excessive pellet energy. It's also suitable for training and practice sessions that mimic real hunting conditions.
The 2.75-inch standard length shell is compatible with nearly all 12-gauge shotguns, including pumps, semi-automatics, and over-under shotguns. You should verify your shotgun is chambered for 12 gauge and 2.75-inch shells before loading. If you're uncertain about your gun's specifications, check your shotgun's manual or contact the manufacturer.
The 1 1/4 ounce shot charge is on the heavier side for #8 shot in a 12-gauge shell, which means denser patterns and more pellets in your effective spread. This gives you better coverage at moderate distances and more reliable pattern density, though it will produce slightly more recoil than lighter loads.
Rio has been making ammunition for over 125 years and is well-regarded among American hunters. The TG368 Game Load specifically has a reputation for consistent patterns and reliable performance across different shotgun models. Rio focuses on quality control and consistent loading, which translates to predictable ballistics in the field.
