The 16.25 inch barrel is 4150 chrome-moly with a nitride treatment for corrosion and wear resistance, threaded 14×1 LH and capped with the traditional slant-style muzzle device. You get adjustable front and rear sights, a machined side rail for mounting optics, a bayonet lug, a cleaning rod under the barrel, and an extended magazine release that makes swaps a little quicker. The front trunnion is forged, along with the bolt and carrier. That is a big deal on stamped-receiver AKs, since the trunnion takes the brunt of the recoil forces and forged parts hold up far better over high round counts than cast ones.
It is stained solid teak, not laminate. The buttstock and both handguards are teak hardwood, paired with a black polymer pistol grip. Plenty of owners swap the grip for an aftermarket one, but the wood itself gets high marks for fit and finish.
