It is a one-piece Picatinny base built specifically for the Remington 870, machined from domestic 6061 T6 extruded aluminum and finished in a matte black Type II anodize that shrugs off field use. The cross-slots run the full length of the rail and are gauged to MIL-STD 1913 spec, which gives you real room to slide rings fore and aft and dial in your eye relief.
