The EGW Remington 783 Long Action Picatinny Rail turns a budget-friendly hunting rifle into a rock-solid optics platform. The factory 783 ships with two separate scope bases, and while they get the job done, a one-piece rail bridges the receiver for better rigidity and a lot more flexibility when you're setting up your glass. This 0 MOA version is cut for the 783 Long Action with a 3.540 inch center spread, so it lines up with the factory mounting holes on your receiver. No drilling, no tapping, just bolt it down and go.
EGW machines this rail from domestic 6061 T6 extruded aluminum and finishes it in matte black anodizing for a tough, low-glare surface that holds up to weather and years of use. There's a milled channel running down the center that trims the weight to right around 2 ounces without giving up stiffness. The cross slots are cut to MIL-STD 1913 spec and run the full length of the rail, which gives you plenty of room to slide your rings forward or back and get your eye relief exactly where you want it.
The rail sits at roughly 0.4 inches from the top of the receiver to the top of the Picatinny, and it accepts any standard Picatinny or Weaver rings, so you're not locked into one brand. It's beveled on both sides, making it fully ambidextrous. Folks who've installed it tend to mention how clean and quick the fit is, often getting zeroed in just a handful of shots. EGW recommends torquing the screws to about 20 inch pounds with a drop of blue Loctite to keep everything locked in under recoil.

Yes, this rail is machined specifically for the Remington 783 Long Action with a 3.540 inch center spread to match the factory mounting holes. It is not cut for the Short Action 783, so make sure you know which action length you have. EGW recommends measuring the hole spacing on your receiver to confirm it matches before installing.
No drilling or tapping is required. The rail is pre-drilled to line up with the factory scope base holes on the 783 receiver, so you just remove the two-piece factory bases and bolt this one on. All the mounting hardware and the wrench come in the box.
The rail is cut to MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny spec, so it accepts any standard Picatinny or Weaver rings. That gives you plenty of freedom to pick the ring height and brand that fits your scope and setup.
This is the 0 MOA version, which EGW recommends for shooting out to around 500 yards. That covers most hunting and general range use with a 783. If you plan to stretch things out to 1000 yards, a 20 MOA rail gives you extra elevation for long-range dialing.
