Remington Core-Lokt 6.5 Creedmoor 140gr PSP Ammo

Description

Remington Core-Lokt ammunition has been the choice of hunters since 1939, and for good reason. This 6.5 Creedmoor load pairs the proven Core-Lokt bullet design with a caliber that's become a favorite for its flat trajectory and reliable terminal performance. The 140-grain pointed soft point is the right weight for this cartridge, delivering controlled expansion and deep penetration when it counts.

What Makes Core-Lokt So Effective

The secret to Core-Lokt's track record is its mechanical design. The tapered copper jacket is locked directly to the lead core, which prevents the separation that causes ordinary soft-point bullets to fail. Instead, controlled expansion happens exactly as intended, with the jacket and core working together to create reliable mushrooming and excellent weight retention. At 2700 fps, this load generates 2267 foot-pounds of energy, giving it the velocity needed to perform across hunting distances without unnecessary recoil.

The 6.5 Creedmoor Advantage

This caliber balances deep penetration with reliable expansion in a way that makes it equally at home on whitetail or larger game. The pointed soft point profile keeps ballistics flat, especially helpful if you hunt beyond the typical close-range scenarios. The brass cases are reloadable with non-corrosive boxer primers, so you can stretch your investment further between boxes.

Real-World Hunting Performance

Core-Lokt bullets typically expand to about twice their original diameter while retaining 65 to 80 percent of their original weight. That combination of expansion and retention is what separates a quick, clean kill from a long chase. Hunters have taken more game with Core-Lokt ammunition than any other hunting bullet design, which is why it remains one of the most trusted choices at the counter and in the field.
