The Remington Core-Lokt Tipped is an evolution of one of hunting's most trusted cartridges. The original Core-Lokt has been dropping game since 1939, and this tipped version keeps that legacy alive while bringing it into the modern world with better aerodynamics and longer-range capability.
The polymer tip is the key innovation here. It improves the ballistic coefficient compared to traditional pointed Core-Lokt bullets, which means flatter trajectories and better downrange performance. The tip also initiates rapid expansion on impact. But what really matters is the jacket itself, which is mechanically locked to the core through Remington's time-tested design. This keeps the bullet together during penetration, creating controlled expansion and reliable energy transfer on game.
You get brass cases with boxer primers that are reloadable for those who handload. The load produces a muzzle velocity of 3140 feet per second with 2080 foot-pounds of energy, making it suitable for deer, varmints, and medium-sized game within reasonable ranges. Factory ammunition consistency matters, and testing shows this load groups reliably with minimal velocity variation between rounds.
Core-Lokt ammunition has earned its reputation through generations of use in the field. The rearward center of gravity adjustment in the Tipped version maximizes accuracy, while the controlled expansion gives you the results hunters expect. This is ammunition built by people who understand what matters when the moment comes.
The 95-grain Core-Lokt Tipped works well on deer and similar medium-sized game within reasonable hunting ranges. The controlled expansion and adequate energy make it reliable for clean harvests, though shot placement and range matter. Most hunters find it effective inside 300 yards on deer-sized animals.
The green polymer tip improves the ballistic coefficient, which means the bullet cuts through air more efficiently for a flatter trajectory and better downrange performance. It also initiates rapid expansion when it contacts game. It's a modernization of the original Core-Lokt design that hunters have trusted for generations.
Yes. The ammunition comes in reloadable brass cases with Boxer primers, so handloaders can reload them after firing. This makes it a practical choice for those who want to get more value from their ammunition investment or develop custom loads.
Testing shows the Core-Lokt Tipped load is consistent by factory ammunition standards with minimal velocity variation between rounds. This consistency translates to more predictable point-of-impact and better accuracy at the range and in the field, which matters when hunting.
