The Redding Competition Model 10X takes everything that made the BR-30 competition measure a favorite and shrinks the metering mechanism down for the lightest charges you'll throw. Redding reduced the diameter of the metering cavity and gave the plunger the same hemispherical cup shape found in the BR-30, which is exactly what you want when you're trying to drop tiny, consistent charges without the scatter you get from a general-purpose measure stretched past its comfort zone.
The target charge weight here is right around 10 grains, with an accurate working range of roughly 1 to 25 grains. That puts it squarely in the sweet spot for most pistol calibers and smaller rifle cartridges, where a few tenths of a grain really shows up on paper. A clear powder reservoir lets you keep an eye on your supply, and an adjustable baffle sits above the metering chamber to hold a constant column of powder so every throw sees the same pressure. That baffle detail is a big part of why charge-to-charge uniformity stays tight through a long loading session.
The test tube style bottom is one of those small engineering touches that pays off over hundreds of throws. It promotes smooth, repeatable metering instead of the inconsistency you can get with abrupt powder drops. The drum assembly is also reversible, so you can set it up for right-hand or left-hand operation depending on how your bench is laid out and which hand runs the crank.
A bench-front mounting bracket comes in the box, and the frame uses a standard 7/8-14 lock ring setup. If you'd rather have it up and out where loading blocks fit underneath the spout, the measure threads into the optional RS-6 bench stand, which isn't threaded itself so you can rotate the whole unit to any angle and dump leftover powder quickly at the end of the day.
