Description

The Recover Tactical P-IX+MG PG9 SR20 kit in Tan takes your Glock and turns it into a fully modular AR-style pistol, no gunsmithing required. This version comes with the metal front guard already installed, giving the front of the polymer housing some extra backbone where it takes the most abuse from mounting a light, a foregrip, or repeated range sessions.

What Comes With the P-IX+MG Tan Kit

Along with the metal guard, this kit ships with the PG9 pistol grip that has a built-in magazine holder, so you are not fumbling for a spare mag mid-drill. The SR20 side rails run down both sides of the housing for lights, lasers, or a sling mount, and a BTP mil-spec buffer tube is included so you can drop in whatever AR pistol grip, brace, or stock setup you already have. Your Glock slides into the clamshell housing and locks in without any permanent changes to the gun itself.

Why the Metal Front Guard Earns Its Spot

The metal front guard reinforces the section of the housing that sits right around the muzzle end, which is the part that takes the most flex and impact once the platform gets used regularly. It is a straightforward upgrade over the standard polymer-only P-IX+ housing, and it holds up well whether you are mounting a weapon light out front or just want more confidence in the structure over the long haul. Keep in mind the metal guard is not built for the Glock 34 or 35, so it is worth checking your donor pistol before you order.

Matching the P-IX+MG to Your Glock

This chassis works with a wide range of Glock 9mm, .40, and .357 SIG models spanning Gen 3 through Gen 5, including several MOS variants. Gen 4 and Gen 5 guns tend to run the smoothest since their wider magazine release button lines up better with the housing's mag release lever than the slimmer Gen 2/3 style does. Steer clear of ported or compensated slides with this system, and stick to factory-height sights so nothing interferes with the top rail once everything is put together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Glock models work with the P-IX+MG PG9 SR20 kit?

This kit fits a wide range of Glock 9mm, .40, and .357 SIG models across Gen 3, 4, and 5, including several MOS variants. Gen 4 and Gen 5 pistols tend to run the smoothest because their wider magazine release button matches up better with the housing's mag release lever. Ported or compensated slides are not compatible with this platform.

Does this kit come with a stock or brace?

This particular kit includes the BTP mil-spec buffer tube but does not ship with a stock or brace attached. It is built to accept standard AR-pattern stocks, braces, or pistol grips if you want to add one on your own.

Will installing the P-IX+MG require any permanent changes to my Glock?

No, the housing works as a drop-in clamshell design. Your Glock locks into the chassis without any cutting, drilling, or other permanent modification, so the pistol itself stays unchanged.

What does the metal front guard actually add compared to the standard P-IX+?

The metal front guard reinforces the area of the housing near the muzzle end, which sees the most stress from repeated use, mounted accessories, and recoil over time. It is a durability upgrade over the polymer-only front section, though it is not compatible with the Glock 34 or 35 frames.
