Anyone who has ever squeezed a bean bag or shimmed a rest to chase the right height knows the frustration. The Real Avid Ratchet Rest Front (Large) fixes that by building a mechanical ratchet right into the bag. Turn the internal Accu-Click system and the height walks up or down in locked, repeatable clicks anywhere from 7 to 9.5 inches, so you can settle your fore-end exactly where you want it without ever coming off the rifle.
The magic here is the Accu-Click mechanism, which works a lot like a ratchet wrench applied to bag compression. Each click locks the bag at a new elevation, and a rapid-release function lets you decompress back to full height in a hurry. Because it holds position under pressure, you get none of the sag, settling, or drift that plagues traditional bags after a few shots. That makes zeroing, load development, and long-range bench work a lot more repeatable.
This is the heavy hitter of the lineup at right around 9 pounds, and that mass is your friend when it comes to soaking up recoil and staying put. The exterior uses a heavy-duty waxed canvas that grips the rifle fore-end, and the rubberized non-slip base locks onto benches and hard surfaces. Heat-resistant stitching shrugs off muzzle blast, and the moisture-resistant poly bead fill holds its shape without the mess of sand or corn.
With a bigger footprint and a 2-inch internal foam disc core, the Front (Large) gives you a flat, stable platform under the fore-end. It shines when solid, adjustable front support is the priority and rear elevation gets handled by your position or stock. Pair it with a Medium or Small Ratchet Rest and you've got a fully adjustable front-and-rear setup that behaves more like a mechanical platform than a fabric sack.
It's a fine-tooth internal ratcheting mechanism that compresses the bag in small, locked increments, much like a ratchet wrench. Each click sets a new height and holds it, and a rapid-release lets you pop the bag back to full height fast. You can do all of it one-handed without breaking your shooting position.
The Front (Large) adjusts mechanically from 7 to 9.5 inches, which is built specifically to support the rifle fore-end. That range covers most bench and prone setups where you need solid, dialed-in front-end elevation. If you want it lower or need rear support, the Medium and Small versions handle those roles.
Yes. Once you lock in a height with the Accu-Click system, it resists sagging, settling, and drift shot after shot. The roughly 9-pound weight and rubberized non-slip base also help keep everything planted when the rifle comes back.
Absolutely. The Front (Large) pairs with the Front/Rear (Medium) or Rear (Small) to build a complete adjustable front-and-rear support system. Each bag adjusts independently, so you can fine-tune both ends of the rifle with the same click-by-click precision.
