Description
The RCBS Matchmaster seater die brings the brand's top-tier seating technology to the .222 Remington. This is the standalone bullet seating die, machined from quality steel and finished with a deep blued coating that looks like it belongs on a fine rifle. If you load for a tack-driving .222 and care about how straight your bullets sit in the case, this is the die that makes it easy to hit your numbers every single time.
What Makes the Matchmaster .222 Seater Different
The standout feature here is the bullet loading window on the side of the die. Instead of trying to balance a bullet on the case mouth and risk pinched fingers or a crooked start, you drop the bullet right into the window where an internal sleeve catches and holds it. Raise the case on the upstroke and the free-floating, self-centering stem guides bullet and case together in perfect alignment. The payoff is seriously concentric ammo, and the process is actually a touch quicker than fighting with a traditional seater.
Dialing In Your .222 Remington Loads
The large oversized micrometer sits right on top with bold letters and hash marks that are easy to read and easy to turn. Dial in one thousandth of an inch and that is exactly what you get, with enough tension on the adjustment that it holds its setting through a loading session. That kind of repeatability is a big deal when you are chasing the node on a .222 and want your seating depth locked down from the first round to the last.
Fit and Finish You Can Feel
The internal surfaces are precision drilled, reamed, and polished to cut friction, and the overall fit and finish earns its keep on the bench. It threads into any standard 7/8-14 press, so it drops right into your existing single stage or turret setup. Made in the USA and backed by the RCBS limited lifetime warranty, it is built to outlast a whole lot of range trips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Matchmaster .222 Remington a full die set or just the seater?
This is the bullet seating die only. It does not include a sizing die or shell holder, so you will need a separate sizing die to complete your reloading setup. RCBS does offer Matchmaster sizing dies and Duo sets separately if you want a matched pair.
Will this die fit my press?
Yes, it uses a standard 7/8-14 thread, so it threads into virtually any standard single stage or turret press. It is a direct drop-in for the presses most reloaders already own.
How does the bullet loading window work?
Instead of balancing a bullet on the case mouth, you drop the bullet into the window on the side of the die where an internal sleeve holds it in place. When you raise the charged case, the self-centering stem brings the bullet and case together in alignment. It cuts down on pinched fingers and helps produce very concentric ammo.
Does this seater come with a VLD seating stem?
It ships with the standard free-floating, self-centering bullet seating stem, which handles the vast majority of common .222 bullet profiles. A dedicated VLD stem is not included in the box. If you load extremely long, sharp-ogive VLD bullets, it is worth contacting RCBS about stem fitting options.
