The Radians Vertex Slim Electronic Earmuff was built for people who want to hear what matters and block out what hurts. Two independent microphones pick up ambient sound like conversation and range commands, then the circuitry compresses anything that spikes past safe levels the instant it hits. That means you can carry on a normal talk between strings of fire and still get protected the moment the shooting starts, with no lag while the electronics react.
The big draw here is the low-profile shape. The slim ear cups sit close to your head, which keeps them out of the way when you're shouldering a shotgun or getting behind a rifle scope. That's a common frustration with bulkier muffs, and the Vertex trims things down without giving up the NRR 22 rating. A rubberized soft-touch coating covers the shells for a comfortable feel and a bit of extra sound dampening, and the whole thing folds down compact so it drops into a range bag or blind pack without eating up space.
Instead of chewing through disposable batteries, the Vertex Slim runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion cell and charges over the included Micro-USB cord. You get long run times between charges and one less thing to buy at the counter. An auto shutoff feature helps stretch battery life if you forget to power it down after a session. There's also a 3.5mm stereo input jack with a patch cable, so you can pipe in audio from a phone or music player while you shoot.
Between the trim profile, the dual-mic sound amplification, and the rechargeable setup, this is a practical pick for the range, the dove field, or the deer blind. It carries the Radians name, which has a long track record across hearing protection, eyewear, and other safety gear.
The Radians Vertex Slim carries an NRR of 22 dB. On top of that passive rating, the electronics compress sounds that exceed 85 dB, so loud impulse noise like gunfire gets clamped down while the muffs still let quieter sounds through. That combination is what makes it work for both protection and situational awareness.
It runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, so there are no disposable batteries to swap out. You charge it up using the included Micro-USB cord, and an auto shutoff feature helps conserve power if you leave them on. That's a nice touch for anyone tired of keeping AAAs on hand.
Yes. The Vertex Slim has a 3.5mm stereo input jack and comes with a patch cable that works with most smart devices. You can plug in audio while you're at the range or in the field, though keep in mind it's a wired connection rather than Bluetooth.
That's exactly what the slim design targets. The trim ear cups sit close to the head to stay out of the way when you're mounting a shotgun or getting a cheek weld on a rifle. They also fold down compact for easy storage in a range bag or hunting pack.
