The Q-SERT ARCA Plate 12" is the bridge between your Q rifle and a tripod. If your handguard runs the Q-SERT interface, this plate bolts right on and converts that mounting system into a full ARCA-Swiss dovetail, so you can clamp into any tripod head or ball-head that reads the standard. It's cut to the exacting Really Right Stuff ARCA-Swiss dimensions, which means it drops into RRS clamps, LeoFoto, 2Vets, and just about anything else built around that dovetail. This is the long version, and that extra real estate matters when you want room to slide fore and aft to find your balance point on a tripod head.
Length is the whole story here. At a full 12 inches, you get far more contact area than the compact 3-inch plate, which translates to a wider window for positioning the rifle on the clamp and a more stable rest when you're shooting off awkward positions. That extra surface also works in your favor when you drop the gun onto a bag or barricade, giving you a flat, predictable platform to load into.
The plate is machined from aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum and finished with a clear hard anodize, so it shrugs off the wear that comes with field use without piling on weight. Integrated hard-stops at the end of the rail keep the rifle from sliding clean off your tripod head if you get sloppy on a transition, and there are threaded holes up front if you want to add your own stop-screws for a hard front reference.
