Q took everything people liked about The Fix, shrunk the receiver and bolt around the 300 Blackout cartridge, and put it in a pistol package with a folding SB Tactical brace. The result is the Mini Fix, and there is not much else like it. With the brace folded it measures about 17 inches, and the whole thing weighs in around 4 pounds 7 ounces. That is a legitimate precision bolt gun you can stash in a backpack, behind a truck seat, or in a blind bag without a second thought.
The 300 Blackout was designed to burn its powder in short barrels, so the 8 inch stainless tube here gives up very little compared to a full-length rifle. The fast 1:5 twist stabilizes heavy subsonic bullets, and since there is no gas system cycling, a suppressed Mini Fix shooting subs is about as quiet as centerfire gets. Owners who run one with a can consistently call it the quietest setup they own. The muzzle wears Q's Cherry Bomb brake on 5/8×24 threads, which doubles as a taper mount for Q suppressors, so adding one later is quick and simple.
The one-piece receiver keeps things rigid and light, the 45 degree short-throw bolt handle clears optics and cycles fast, and the two-stage match trigger breaks the way a precision trigger should. Controls follow the AR pattern, including a 45 degree safety selector, and it feeds from standard AR/M4 magazines. One 20-round mag ships with it. A full-length Picatinny top rail handles your optic, and the free-float Q-Sert handguard gives you attachment points for a light or bipod without adding bulk.
This one shines anywhere compact and quiet matter: hog control at night, deer inside 200 yards, or just ringing steel with subsonics on a lazy range day. It is a specialty piece, no question, but for a suppressed 300 Blackout bolt gun that folds up smaller than most carbines, the Mini Fix is the one to beat.
It might be one of the best. With no gas system venting noise and the 300 Blackout's subsonic capability, a suppressed Mini Fix is remarkably quiet. The included Cherry Bomb brake works as a taper mount for Q suppressors like the Thunder Chicken, and the 5/8×24 threads accept most other .30 caliber cans.
It feeds from standard AR/M4 pattern magazines, which means spares are cheap and easy to find just about anywhere. One 20-round magazine comes in the box. Any quality 300 Blackout loaded AR mag should run fine in it.
Folded, it comes in at about 17.13 inches overall, and it opens up to 26.75 inches. At roughly 4 pounds 7 ounces, it fits in most backpacks and range bags with room to spare, which is a big part of its appeal for hunters and truck gun setups.
Yes, and being a bolt action, it does not care about cycling like a semi-auto does, so it runs any load reliably. The fast 1:5 twist barrel stabilizes heavy 190 to 220 grain subsonic bullets especially well, which is where this platform really shines when suppressed.
